Move to a new voicemail

Lakeside Faculty and Staff,

On March 17, 2014, Loyola is moving to a new voicemail system. The upgrade will replace our current Avaya Audix platform with Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging. “Unified messaging” refers to the ability to manage multiple types of communications, such as e-mail and voicemail, from a single location, accessible from a variety of devices. You’ll be able to hear your e-mail and calendar items over the phone, for example, or listen to your voicemail messages from within your Outlook e-mail inbox.

  • The voicemail upgrade will affect most Lakeside users with a 773.508.XXXX or 312.915.XXXX telephone number and associated University voicemail.
  • There are a few quick steps you’ll need to take to prepare your new voicemail box before the system goes live. We’ll be sending detailed instructions about how to do this the week of March 10.
  • Loyola’s voicemail access numbers will remain the same on the new system: 8.6040 for the Lake Shore Campus and 5.6858 for the Water Tower Campus.

Further information is available online on our About the Voicemail Upgrade page. If you have any additional questions, please contact the help desk at helpdesk@luc.edu or 773.508.4ITS (4487).

Access is everything: access to knowledge, to a career, to truth, to success. For most people, access to their dreams begins with a college degree.
