Save the Date: University Christmas Luncheon, Dec. 20

Please join us for the annual Christmas Luncheon for faculty, staff, and retirees, hosted by Michael J. Garanzini, S.J. This year’s luncheon will be held on Friday, December 20, in the Gentile Arena at our Lake Shore Campus.

The festivities, which include a gathering at 11:30 a.m. in the Damen Student Center Atrium and the luncheon at noon, are a great opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate the holiday season. As always, the program will feature plenty of games (with prizes) and door prizes for attendees.

New this year, University Staff Council will hold both a silent and live auction at the luncheon to benefit the Loyola Employee Emergency Fund (LEEF). Funds raised will help University employees (faculty and staff) recover financially from loss due to natural emergencies, accidents, catastrophes, deaths, or illnesses, which are no fault of the employee. Auction items will be available for pick-up during the luncheon and cash, check, or credit card payment will be accepted.

In addition, and similar to past years, the University Staff Council will host a holiday spirit contest. To learn more about how to enter the “Create a Holiday Greeting Card Design” contest, click here. Registration must be completed by Friday, December 13 and judging will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20.

For those driving to the event, courtesy parking will be available in the Main Parking Structure on campus. For those not driving, complimentary shuttle service will be provided for those coming from, and returning to, the Water Tower and Health Sciences campuses.

  • Water Tower Campus—Shuttle service will depart from the Corboy Law Center at 11 a.m. Shuttles will leave the Lake Shore Campus to return to the Water Tower Campus at 2:15 p.m.
  • Health Sciences Campus—Shuttle service will depart from Fifth Avenue, just west of the Niehoff School of Nursing, at 10:30 a.m. Shuttles will leave the Lake Shore Campus to return to the Health Sciences Campus at 2:15 p.m.

Health Sciences Campus employees who plan to attend the luncheon should RSVP no later than noon on December 13 by clicking here.

Access to excellence

Access is everything: access to knowledge, to a career, to truth, to success. For most people, access to their dreams begins with a college degree.
