Crime Alert – armed robbery near 6700 block of N. Greenview

Loyola Community,

The Department of Campus Safety is writing to notify you that an armed robbery occurred in the 6700 block of N. Greenview, near the Lake Shore Campus, on January 29, at approximately 5 p.m. A Loyola student was walking in the alley when he was approached by two men. One of the offenders displayed a handgun and took several items of value from the victim and then both offenders immediately fled the scene.

Unfortunately, the victim was not able to provide a detailed description of the offenders. Campus Safety is working closely with local authorities on this investigation. If anyone has information on the incident, please call Campus Safety at 773.508.6039 or the Chicago Police Department via 9-1-1. We also urge you to review the safety tips listed below.

  • Please avoid walking alone, especially in the evening, when traveling off campus
  • When possible, students should utilize the University‚Äôs 8-RIDE (773.508.7433) service
  • If you see something you believe to be suspicious, immediately contact Campus Safety at 773.508.6039 or the Chicago Police Department via 9-1-1
