Panel: does Chicago have enough police officers?

At 6 p.m. tonight, a panel of criminal justice experts will meet to discuss the size of Chicago’s police force and weigh the pros and cons of increasing the number of police officers working within the city. The panel discussion is sponsored by the Illinois Academy of Criminology and is free and open to the public. It will take place in Kasbeer Hall, on the 15th floor of the Corboy Law Center.

Panelists include:

  • Tracy Siska, Executive Director, Chicago Justice Project
  • Robert Lombardo, PhD, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice, Loyola University Chicago
  • James McCarthy, Field Representative, Fraternal Order of Police
  • Arthur Bilek, Executive Vice President, Chicago Crime Commission
