Tip-off luncheon tics available

To celebrate the start of another season of Ramblers basketball, Loyola will host its annual Basketball Tip-Off Luncheon October 26 at Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse in Chicago (33 W. Kinzie). Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with lunch to be served at noon.

Following lunch, Loyola Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. M. Grace Calhoun will speak followed by head men’s basketball coach Porter Moser, and fourth-year women’s coach Eric Simpson. Both coaches will speak about their team and the upcoming 2012-13 season.

As he enters his second year at Loyola, Moser will look to incorporate eight newcomers into the mix, while also leaning on the veteran guile of three returning starters, including Second Team All-Horizon League senior forward Ben Averkamp (15.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in 2011-12) and fifth-year senior swing man Jordan Hicks.

Simpson welcomes back four starters, all of which averaged 10 or more points per game, from last year’s squad including 2012 Horizon League All-Newcomer Team selections Simone Law (13.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) and Patrice King (11.8 ppg).

Tickets are available for $40 per person and tables of 10 can be purchased for $350. Seating is limited to 200 people, so make your reservations today by calling 773.508.WOLF or clicking here.
