The Cuneo Mansion and Gardens unveiled its new Pavilion this past Saturday, June 18, with a ribbon cutting held on the building’s brick terrace that overlooks the beautiful landscape of the estate in Vernon Hills, Ill.
The 5,550 sq. foot Pavilion at Cuneo replicates the unique exterior design and architecture of the historic Cuneo Mansion, and while it provides an antique ambiance, the building has modern equipment and facilities. The facility, which can accommodate up to 300 guests, is designed to host any conference, performance, or lecture. The four-season pavilion also features a 1,600 sq. foot terrace that overlooks the colorful Cuneo gardens, making it the perfect venue for weddings and special occasions.
On Saturday, the pavilion hosted the wedding reception of Shauna Martin, a Loyola alumna, and Robert Ritter (pictured at left; courtesy of Jamie Hendry). While surrounded by their closest family and friends, the newly-wed couple led the honorary ribbon cutting in celebration of their wedding day.
Annie Hughes, communication associate at Loyola, handles the public relations for the Cuneo Mansion and Gardens.
“It was such an honor to witness the first wedding and event at the new Pavilion at Cuneo,” says Hughes, who played an integral role in planning the Pavilion’s debut. “The building itself is remarkable, and the outside terrace, which overlooks the formal gardens, is truly breathtaking.”
Kevin Ginty, general manager at Cuneo Mansion and Gardens, worked closely with Hughes and the families of Ms. Martin and Mr. Ritter to ensure the event’s success.
The new pavilion is connected to the back east corner of the Cuneo Mansion through an adjoining catering kitchen.
