Map: Lent-Friendly Restaurants for Friday Dinners

As Catholics participate in the liturgical season of Lent, eating out becomes significantly trickier.

During Lent, Catholics are asked to abstain from eating meat (excluding fish) on Fridays. Meat is a major staple on most restaurants’ menus, so the practicing faithful see large portions of these menus become “forbidden fruit,” so to speak.

Vegan and vegetarian restaurants, however, become oases of food on Lenten Fridays. With the guidance of vegetarian food blogger Sarah Murray, here are five options for dinner on the town while giving up meat on Friday.

Click on the map icons to see the captions containing information and reviews about the restaurants. If the map does not appear, try viewing it on another web browser.
