Interactive map: Places to buy locally grown food in Rogers Park

Stand on corner in Rogers Park, and chances are good a fast food establishment isn’t far away.

What isn’t apparent, at least to the casual observer, is the abundance of ‘slow food’ in the area—locally grown, sustainably produced cuisine sold by the small groceries and farmer’s markets that inconspicuously dot Rogers Park.

Driven by a large student population and the community’s demand for an alternative to mass-produced snacks, the localized food movement has taken a firm hold in Rogers Park. Explore the map to view establishments around the Rogers Park area that sell sustainably grown and/or locally produced food.
