Mapping the Madness: Host Arenas for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship Games Since 2000

Every year in March, Madness sweeps the nation in the form of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Millions of fans meticulously fill out brackets with hopes that they will have the only correct one in the nation, only to have that hope destroyed by the end of Day 1. But the heart-stopping buzzer beaters and Cinderella stories that always accompany the NCAA Tournament make it one of the most closely watched and heavily attended sporting events every year.

We’re in the midst of this year’s Madness, which will culminate with the Final Four and Championship Games in the Mercedes Benz Superdome in Louisiana. Take a look back at the host arenas for the past 11 NCAA Final Four and Championship Games. Relive the drama from years past by clicking on each location on the map.

*NOTE: Multiple locations have more than one placemark. Zoom in on Indianapolis, Atlanta, and San Antonio to view all placemarks in those cities (different colors = different years).
