Quinlan Ramble to New York

Quinlan Ramble to New York City
Last Day, 3/11/17
Travel day – New York City -> Chicago
by Monica Contreras (Quinlan ’19)

Saturday is here and its time to go back home! After a week of networking, exploring and learning, the Quinlan Ramble is over.

It took a few days, 16 students, 9 company visits, 6 different restaurants, 2 planes, and an amazing leadership team to make this year’s Quinlan Ramble unforgettable. By the end of the trip, it was clear to us why being selected to be part of this experience is such a privilege. During our time in New York, we got to experience unique moments such as: attending the ringing of the Bell at the NYSE, an alumni reception at the renowned New York Athletic Club and getting a detailed insight into the NYC Mayor’s office.

Throughout our journey, we met such amazing staff who had different backgrounds and titles. We walked into different buildings and made so many different connections. From all this, the passion each employee showed to us for working on their expertise was evident. Each member made our visits incredibly appealing and entertaining by introducing speakers to us and even giving the group souvenirs from the company.

On our last day, we walked back to the train that took us to Newark. Some of us decided to try New York’s delicious pizza for the last time, some others couldn’t leave without taking with them New York’s famous cronut, lastly, a few took a couple of snaps with the “Fearless Girl” statue that is currently standing in front of the bronze bull on Wall Street.

The Quinlan Ramble has been nothing but amazing for our group of students. A window into New York’s professional work and an educational experience that we will always remember from our years at Loyola University.
