Derrick Rose Bringing It

Today, Joe Nieminski shares his view on one of the most talked about Chicago sport stories:

Derrick Rose is back and all is right in the world. The problem is the Bulls have some issues they need to work on and only have a few games before the playoffs start. With all of the injuries the team has incurred over the season it seems that the chemistry is just not there in places. It is not surprising that the Bulls have been an inconsistent team when they have not had access to their optimal starting lineup for most of the season.

The most important part of the next few games will be getting Derrick Rose’s endurance back and making sure he can play 25 minutes per game in the postseason. If Derrick can work his way up to around 30 minutes a game in a potential 2nd round series then the Bulls might have a chance against the 1 seed Atlanta Hawks. The problem is the Bulls will be playing against a foe that eliminated them last year: the Washington Wizards. The hope is that the Bulls will be legitimate contenders with the added talents of Nikola Mirotic, Aaron Brooks, and Pau Gasol along with the improvement of Jimmy Butler. The issue is that they may be running out of time to reach their potential.
