Chicago Blackhawks: Playoffs With Or Without Kane?

Chicago Blackhawks fan Chris Campeau gives his thoughts on the team going to the playoffs…again:

Here we go again, the race to the cup, and the Chicago Blackhawks have clinched a spot in the post season for their seventh consecutive appearance, for the first time since 1997. With only five days left of regular season, many teams like the Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild, are still tirelessly trying to claim the last eight contested spots for the 2015 Stanley Cup playoffs. Since the playoff clinching 3-1 win for the Blackhawks over the Vancouver Canucks on April 2nd, Chicago fans are ready for the playoffs and hopeful to see the Stanly Cup come back home to Chicago.

With the news that Chicago will be in the playoffs, the fans and media are asking only one question, “When will Kane be back?” Kane left the game against the Florida Panthers on February 24th with a left clavicle fracture, which resulted in a successful surgery the following day. According to Blackhawk’s website, Head Coach Joel Quenneville states, Kane is skating with the team but the timetable remains the same of 12 weeks, which would have him back around May 19th. However, the media has high hopes for his return for the first round of the playoffs, by stating that a “return to the lineup is close”, but that remark is only an assumption made because of coach Quenneville quote saying “medical clearance is the hurdle”.

With rumors floating around of Kane’s return, Chicago can only hold its breathe and hope to see number 88 return to the ice to win Chicago the cup.
