Take back Roma!

This weekend, students at Loyola’s John Felice Rome Center joined forces with Noi X Roma (“We are Rome”) to give back to the Balduina/Monte Mario neighborhood that Loyola is situated in. Several students helped clean “The Stairs” of leaves, mud and trash. We received many compliments from residents in the surrounding area, many of whom are elderly who may have trouble climbing the 100 steps through the neighborhood when it is covered in mud and leaves. It was an enriching and pleasing experience – Rome is in dire need of efficient cleaning services for the many streets, sidewalks and alleyways, and this was a perfect way for JFRC students to give back to the neighborhood and make connections with those who want to make a difference not only in Rome but in Europe. I am happy and grateful for the wonderful opportunities JFRC has such as this.
