A Night to Remember

Despite the stormy forecast last month, the FBC’s second-annual Summer Boat Cruise set sail on the waters of the Chicago River.  Over 70 passengers kept dry aboard the Leading Lady, one of the newer vessels from FBC Member, Chicago’s First Lady Cruises.

Once we got going, the rain let up long enough for people to venture to the upper deck and enjoy a view of Chicago set against a dramatic sky.  Below deck, Members enjoyed an evening of food, drinks and great conversation… not to mention a live broadcast of the hockey game!  Go Hawks!

But the real topper to the evening happened before everyone stepped aboard.  Under a tree along the pier, Michael Swanson asked his girlfriend Sarah Buddig to marry him!  Sarah is the daughter of Bob Buddig, the FBC’s Board Chairman.  The day before the cruise, Bob told us that Michael would be proposing and we couldn’t have been more excited to help make sure things went off without a hitch.  Congrats to Michael and Sarah and cheers to a happy marriage!

Big thanks to our gracious hosts–Bob and Holly Agra and their son, Bob III—for once again helping us execute another memorable event.  We couldn’t have done this without you!

If you’re interested in attending other family business social events, check out our upcoming NxG Networking Event, taking place at Chicago’s City Winery.  This is a great way to meet other Next Gen folks within the FBC’s Membership.  Good times are sure to be had.  Register here.
