A Moment of Bliss With HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA (Part I)

Posted on: May 1st, 2012 by Biswas Pradhan

Namaste friends!

Hope you are all doing good and staying fit, fine and fresh. In this post, I would like to share about the life-time opportunity that I had experienced in the presence of HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA.

I could still recall that it was in the month of January, 2012 when I saw an announcement posted in the Loyola University website that His Holiness will be visiting our university on April 26, 2012 to deliver His discourse supporting inter-faith and unity. I jumped with joy and excitement after hearing such a great news.

No sooner than after learning about this event, my inner voice was really insisting me if I could only perform devotional songs/prayer on such an auspicious day. Following my heart, I straight away created an email requesting if there was any such opportunity to perform on stage on that day as a representative to Loyola University. I sent an email straight to the president of the university, Rev. Fr. Michael Garanzini, explaining about an inter-faith devotional song that I was willing to sing and bit about the instrument that I will be playing. He was really impressed to know about my interest and strong zeal to offer a prayer for the event. He replied in an email stating that he had forwarded my email to the committee member and would let me know soon.

With patience and prayer, I was deeply waiting to hear back from the organizing committee members. Almost a month passed by, there was still no response at all. I was so much anticipating for their

email that I ended up sending another request email to Fr. Garanzini again. When I checked my inbox, immediately, I got an email from one of the committee members stating that they have included my name along with the other organizing members for the very event. My eyes watered with tears after reading this email. Alas! God always listens to prayer.

Sooner, I received an email from Mr. Steven  who was an overall in-charge of all the performances for the event. He invited me in his office to display the musical instrument and to share further about the devotional song. The song I chose to sing reveals the message that: “There is only one Religion, the Religion of Love; There is only one Language, the Language of the Heart; There is only one Caste, the Caste of Humanity; There is only one Law, the Law of Karma and There is only one God and He is Omnipresent.”
