Hi, guys! How is everything going? Have you participated in the Spring Block Party this week?
This time, the Water Tower Campus Block Party was bigger, better, and bolder than in the past. The standard hamburgers and hot dogs have been replaced by grub from Potbelly, Qdoba, Taco Burrito King, and Connie’s Pizza. I tried the sandwich from Potbelly, and it was quite delicious. You can help yourself from the options, and even add something like cucumber or pepper. It seems that the food from Taco Burrito King was popular, because the line was very long; I thought the average time for waiting was 15 minutes, even some Professors join with their students!
For dessert, I tried the “waffle on a stick,” which can be dipped in fudge and then coated with my choice of sugary toppings. Instead of just listening to music, attendees can take center stage during live-band karaoke, snap shots with friends in the photo booth, or test your steadiness in a game of life-sized Jenga.
Because of the bad weather, the rock-climbing wall was cancelled, but it does not affect our enthusiasm. Everyone enjoy the music and food together. Even though it is called a block party, it seems to be more of a stop, grab some food and leave event. It was a good chance for students, staff and professors to know each other. Actually, everyone who ate and stayed will have the chance to win an iPad 2 as well.
I think it was the time for students to enjoy the last week of school before hitting the books for the final exams!
