My first Thanksgiving Holiday in U.S.

Posted on: December 7th, 2011 by Jia Lu

My friends, how about the Thanksgiving Holiday?

Have you enjoy the dinner with your family? Have you enjoy the shopping on Black Friday?

For me, my friends and I had a fulfilling holiday. During the five days, we did a lot of things.

This is my first thanksgiving in U.S. Before I came here, I already heard about that many families here will get together to have a dinner and thanks those people who help them during the year. Even though my family was not here, my friends and I spend a wonderful evening on that day. We enjoyed eating Chinese food, taking photo and playing games at that night.  We were laughing together, and this kind of feeling made me feel that we had known each other long time before.

Do you know “Black Friday”? Like many of you, when one of my American friends asked me this question, I had no idea about this. Well, now I know what it means. On that day, most of the sellers would give big discount to their customers in order to thanks the customers’ supporting in the past year. People will become crazy and compete to buy things. I found that most of things on the sale list were really attractive, because the prices were quite low. For this reason, my friends and I decided to go shopping on Black Friday. However I thought we make a bad decision. Too many people went to shopping at the same time! You could not even touch the things you want, since others were faster than you. Next time I will choose to stay at some and do shopping online.

On the weekend, two of my roommates and I went to Indiana state to visit Uncle Dan. He took us to a famous club in the town, and we enjoyed the band and the music there. It was really awesome!

I already told my story for the holiday, and how about yours?
