The 2014 Loyola Farmers Market Management Team looks forward to engaging you in ways to learn about what is in season, eating healthy to prevent ill-health, and how to cook the amazing fresh produce available at the market.
In addition to connecting food purchasing choices to healthy living, the market will host a variety of organizations that inform community members about safe pest prevention applications at home, energy efficiency to activities that highlight youth empowerment programs.

Charity Fundraising for St. Thomas of Canterbury
The City of Chicago’s Greencorps Program sponsors a Youth Employment Program in partnership with Alternative, Inc. a non-profit organization which provides 16-19 year old teens with job training skills.
On July 28th, the teens in the Employment Program will be at the market to conduct a fundraising activity.
- Painted garden stones for sale at the market
- Proceeds will go to St. Thomas of Canterbury a local charity located in the Edgewater neighborhood. The charity provides food and clothing services to those in need.

Retired Greyhound Racing Dogs Adoption Outreach
4 Greyhound Racers, an adoption organization based in Crystal Lake, Illinois will have one or two greyhound companions at the market and educate the community of an ideal pet for urban dwellers.
