This year’s farmers market will undoubtedly be a great one, with a number of exciting new daily vendors and fun events planned throughout the summer. There are a few people, however, that ensure that the market runs smoothly and that customers have the best possible experience every Monday afternoon. This years Market Management Team consists of Taylor, Dani, Natalia and Nick.
Taylor Choy (top right) is a recent graduate of Loyola with a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science. She is the Farmers Market Coordinator for the Loyola Farmers Market. This season, she is excited to work with new and returning vendors to bring delicious, local food to the Rogers Park and Edgewater communities. Her favorite market products are plums from Benton Harbor Fruit & Bee Co. In her free time, she enjoys going to live music shows and eating her way through Chicago restaurants.
Dani Abboud (bottom left) is a rising senior at Loyola studying Environmental Science and Sociology. She enjoys spending her free time in Chicago cooking, working on original embroidery and hanging out with her dog . Dani is excited to be a part of the farmers market team because she is very passionate about community engagement and wants to help ensure that all members of the Rogers Park community have equal access to green amenities. When asked about her favorite vegetable, she told us that it’s a three-way tie between green beans, broccoli and carrots. All great choices, Dani!
Natalia Gardocki (top left) is also a rising senior at Loyola, with a major in Environmental Science and minors in Communication and Sustainability Management. When she is not busy with school, work or internships, she loves to spend time outside by riding her bike or playing ultimate frisbee with her team, the Loyola Sirens. Natalia is excited to work with the farmers market because she loves having the opportunity to interact with members of the community and spend every Monday outdoors eating fresh fruits and veggies. The market product that she is looking forward to most is Stamper Cheese’s Brie.
Nick Bergstrom (bottom right) is a fourth year student studying Conservation and Restoration Ecology. He was born and raised in Chicago’s western suburbs and is super pleased he gets to live in the city to be one of this season’s market interns. Nick is excited to chat with and help out our customers and vendors. As with most market years, he’s excited for our team to further the development of the market as a Rogers Park summer staple. His favorite market product is the veggie tamale from Tamales Express. For fun, he likes to listen to the hippest happening music and to go hiking with all his outdoor enthusiast friends.
Make sure to stop by the customer service tent to welcome our new team and to thank them for all their hard work!
