2016 Student Development Committee Research Grant Award Recipient

Michael_HinesMichael Hines, PhD Cultural and Educational Policy Studies Candidate is one of two students to receive the 2016 Student Development Committee (SDC) Research Grant Award. The SDC Research Grant is a $1,000 annual award granted to a PhD or EdD. student to assist in their dissertation work. Michael’s dissertation is “To Make Them Feel That They Are Men Amongst Men: The Supplementary Units for the Course of Instruction in Social Studies and Black History in Chicago Schools 1924-1945.”

This Grant is awarded by the SDC, a standing committee of the Academic Council of the School of Education. The award is presented at the School of Education Annual Research Symposium. Congratulations!
