Sierra Magazine – Top Ten Coolest Schools

SustainabilityLoyola was recently recognized by Sierra Magazine for our sustainability initiatives as part of their annual list:

This data was taken directly from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) report that Dr. Tavis Jules and his students played a major role in the project.  Dr. Jules’ course ELPS 555- Seminar on Sustainability, Ethics and Development (Spring 2013), was an experimental class with three students; Susan Phillips (MED ’13), Vankeila Simmons, and Caitlin  Kendall (MA ’14). The collective final output for this class was Loyola’s first Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) report. ELPS 555- Seminar on Sustainability, Ethics and Development is the only graduate course on the books across the university that is closely aligned to the University’s strategic mission and housed outside of the Environment Center.
