School Psychology Students Actively Engage in Social Justice

creamean_pioneer-pressKeeshawn Brooks and Whitney Creamean, students in the School Psychology program, presented a workshop recently on bullying prevention at the Bridge Teen Center in Chicago. Dr. Shriberg explained, “All first year school psychology students complete a 75 hour service learning requirement that is the core assignment for a social justice class. As part of the service learning requirement, all students are required to coordinate with their partner sites to complete an “original contribution”, meaning something that goes above and beyond the normal volunteering role and is something that the partner site would like to see happen but wouldn’t be able to do without our students.”
