Professor Noah W. Sobe delivers talk at Beijing Normal University
Professor Noah W. Sobe, Associate Professor and Program Chair, Cultural and Educational Policy Studies, was invited to Beijing Normal University to present a workshop at the Institute for Historical Research. Professor Sobe spoke on “The History of Emotions in Education”, discussing the emergence of the history of the emotions as a historical sub-speciality and its significance for historians of education. The talk drew on his research on the role that “Slavic Love” played in Yugoslav education and Panslavism in the 1920s and 1930s as well as his current, ongoing research on the history of attention and boredom in schools.
