The School of Education’s Center for Comparative Education recently hosted Professor Kazuhisa Fujimoto of Keio University (Japan) who presented a lecture on “Analysis of Teacher Discourse in Japanese Lesson Study Meetings” on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 6pm in Corboy Law Center. Professor Fujimoto is currently a visiting researcher at Teachers College, Columbia University and he presented his research on the participant-driven model of the Japanese Lesson Study. His talk highlighted a series of important issues having to do with teacher autonomy and academic researcher involvement in school-based professional development projects.
