Held in honor of the late Bernard McElroy (1937-1991), professor of English at Loyola University Chicago, the McElroy Celebration combines lecture and performance to explore major themes in Shakespearean theory and criticism. Presented by the Departments of English and Theatre, the 21st Annual McElroy Memorial Shakespeare Celebration will feature a lecture/performance titled “Performing the Storm in The Tempest.” Peter Holland of the University of Notre Dame will present the lecture while LUC’s Peter Konelos will act as the Director of Scenes. A reception will follow.
