As the year comes to a close, it is time to honor the people who have made the Department of Fine and Performing Arts a spectacular place to be this year. Seeing as how the department is so big, this will include faculty and students.

On Wednesday, May 1 from 1 to 3PM, gather together with your favorite teachers and friends in the Newhart Family Theatre for an awards ceremony celebrating this year in Loyola’s dance, music, theatre and fine arts sectors.

Following the ceremony, a light dinner reception will be held in the Palm Court to honor graduating seniors and allow you to say farewell to departing friends, faculty, and staff. Patrons must RSVP here to attend.

Question life, love, and faith with AstonRep Theatre Company‘s Chicago premiere and month-long run of Next Fall at Heartland Studio’s BoHo Theatre, directed by Derek Bertelsen. For the  PM preview performance on Thursday, April 25, tickets cost only $10!

Written by Geoffrey Nauffts, the play chronicles five years of a gay couple’s unlikely relationship as they deal with differing religious beliefs. Initially produced off-Broadway in 2009, Next Fall has since been seen on a Broadway stage and received two Tony Award nominations, two Drama Desk Award nominations, and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination.

During the April 25-May 25 production, performances will be held on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 2 PM. General admission tickets cost $20, and student and senior tickets are priced at $15. Tickets are available online or by phone at 773.828.9129.
