“Maria/Stuart” at the Sideshow Theatre Company

Posted on by Kyle Jenkins Posted in Around Town, Theatre | Comments Off

It’s tough to know whether or not there will be Fine Arts jobs available out there when we leave Loyola’s umbrella.  However, if you need any reassurance, and want to see how prepared you will be by the department, go buy tickets to see Maria/Stuart at the Sideshow Theatre from now till May 5th, featuring scenic designer and Loyola alumn, Nick Sieben!

After graduating in 2009, Nick has worked as in independent designer on various Chicago plays, including Pancake Breakfast and Big Love in 2010 alone.  Now he takes his talents to the Sideshow Thetare Company and their dark comedy Maria/Stuart.  This play, written by Jason Grote, takes the idea of dramatic family get-togethers and injects it with his own brand of crazy.  Nothing is sacred, especially a hook-handed aunt who dated questionable men in her youth, a damning pink letter, and secrets that get brought to the surface.

Tickets are normally $20, but a student discount on Thursday and Sunday shows brings the price down to $15.  Click here to find info on purchasing tickets, or here to read more about the play.  Grab your friends to see what a future in theatre can become!

Congrats, grads!
