At 86, ANNE MCGRAVIE is having a busy year. Her short play “A Stone-Cold Case” brings her back to Loyola and the pleasure of working again with Sarah Gabel as well as an opportunity to meet her favorite comedian, Bob Newhart. Her most celebrated play, WRENS (awarded three JEFFS for new play, ensemble, and principal actor, recipient of an Illinois Arts Council Fellowship), is at present being remounted by Rivendell Theatre, its first producer. In addition McGravie’s new play “The Clown Next Door” is being produced by Susan Padveen and the Neapolitans. “Inishfree” was one of the short stories that introduced Brigham Young University’s introduction to “Arabian Nights.” McGravie’s first novel, “Dancing on Ashes,” is published by e-publisher Kathleen Thompson and her Around the Block Press.
