After years of anticipation, months of rehearsal, and a week of tech, we are thrilled to perform Past, Present, and Future: Loyola’s Inaugural Dance Concert this weekend at the Mullady Theatre from February 13 to 16.
The program, which consists of historical pieces alongside contemporary works, reflects the dance department’s simultaneous emphasis on classical technique and attention to current aesthetics. Students have therefore had the opportunity to participate in the retention of dance tradition as well as the creation of progressive choreography.
As a graduating dance major, I look back with pride at the exponential speed with which the department has evolved and forward with excitement as the program continues to grow. Past, Present, and Future marks a huge step forward in our ongoing development, and every moment we spend in the studio plays a part in our journey.
