Colin Holman, Conductor

Loyola Instructor of Music Conducting and Orchestra, Colin Holman.

Professors are people–and conductors–too!

On Friday, September 20, Loyola instructor and Chicago Brass Band Music Director Colin Holman will conduct the brass and percussion ensemble’s Mendelssohn Mainstage Concert Series at 7:30 PM at Court Street United Methodist Church. Currently celebrating its tenth anniversary season, Chicago Brass Band was formed in the British tradition, but prides itself on its Chicago flair.

Additionally, Holman will conduct the Fox Valley Orchestra as they play Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World,” Dohnanyi’s “American Rhapsody,” and Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.” Catch them Saturday, September 21, at 7:30 PM at the Norris Center or Sunday, September 22, at 3 PM at Crimi Auditorium.

Tickets for the Fox Valley Orchestra performances are regularly priced at $13 with $11 tickets for students and seniors, and cost $12 in advance with $10 tickets for students and seniors.
