National Theatre Live: The Magistrate

Hi theatre lovers! Ever wanted to see productions from outside the country? How about a production from London right here in the US-of-A?!

National Theatre Live will be broadcasting their production of Arthur Wing Pinero’s The Magistrate starring Academy Award nominee John Lithgow. Directed by Timothy Sheader, Lithgow takes the title role and marries Agatha (played by Nancy Carroll), who deceives the magistrate by reducing five years off her and her son’s ages. When her secret is nearly revealed, a series of hilarious coincidences and situations lead this comedy to a close.

National Theatre Live will broadcast this production in HD from London and be shown at the Music Box Theatre right here in Chicago! An evening broadcast will be shown Wed., January 23rd at 7:30PM in addition to a matinee screening Sat., February 10th at 2PM.
