Knit a Garden in Rogers Park

Want to start a quick knitting project before school starts? Fellow Rogers Parkians have started a new neighborhood art installation, and they’re calling for your assistance!

Rogers Park is Blooming! is a fiber art installation–that is, a really neat public knitting project presented in part by our friends at the Rogers Park Business Alliance, who are so great at strengthening our community through art. Anywho, Rogers Park is Blooming! will be composed of tons of knitted or crocheted flowers, leaves, and stems contributed by our neighbors (that’s you!). These “plants” will then be installed on fences on Howard and Clark, beautifying the whole place!

If you don’t know how to knit flowers, have no fear! There are free workshops in the area to teach you how! The next session is happening next Wednesday, Aug. 22nd from 4 – 6 PM. More information is available online.
