We are excited to announce a new opportunity to support the ever expanding arts program at Loyola!
Since Loyola’s theatre program began in 1968, the Kathleen Mullady Memorial Theatre played host to each season of mainstage productions. Over 40 years, our department has grown dramatically, merging with the music, visual arts, and dance programs to create the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. In a move to unite our academic headquarters and our main performance space, we will be unveiling the newly constructed Newhart Family Theatre this fall!
Located in the heart of the historic Mundelein Center for the Fine and Performing Arts, the Newhart Family Theatre provides the perfect space for our students to explore the power of the dramatic arts. Actors will engage the audience from the intimate thrust-style stage, while our behind-the-scenes crew will create breathtaking sensory landscapes with the help of state-of-the-art workshop technology. This season, we’ll transport audiences from Loyola’s campus to Moliere’s 17th-century France, then onward to the oppressive political landscape of Urinetown.
As we move closer to the grand opening, we want to invite you to be a part of the new theatre–literally. For a limited time, a small number of seats in the Newhart Family Theatre are available for “purchase.” As a standing testament to your support of the arts at Loyola, you can name each purchased seat after yourself or in memory of a loved one.
Seats can be purchased online via our secure donation site. For more information about purchasing seats—or subscriptions for our mainstage theatre season—please contact the Box Office at 773.508.3847, or e-mail BoxOffice@LUC.edu.
