It’s shaping up to be a fairly unpleasant day weather-wise, so why not head inside for a New Orleans summer in Mullady Theatre? The final performances of A Streetcar Named Desire take over the Mullady stage tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 PM, along with a Sunday matinĂ©e at 2 PM. Tickets are selling more quickly than wind blowing down Sheridan Road, so hit up LUC.Tix.com to book your seat!
Having watched a performance myself last week, I can safely say it’s a stellar production. Thanks to the crew, the set and lighting perfectly suited the working-class Kowalskis and the sweltering summer heat, while the jazz interludes were ethereal and dream-like (because we don’t want realism, we want magic!). Special kudos to the cast for tackling Tennessee Williams’ unbelievably complex characters with such precision.
Don’t forget–this is our final mainstage production in Mullady Theatre, and an appropriately bittersweet transition from old to new. Help us celebrate the longevity of our theatre program and look forward to the future by purchasing your Streetcar tickets today!
