Well now that everyone knows about all these places they won’t be the best places to study anymore Thanks for publicizing all our secret spots! Gotta find some new ones now… ;)

The 14th Floor of Mundelein is another great study space with probably the best views from the building….lots of open space as well.

when I was at Loyola (2000-2004), the jes res lawn was the place to “study” before spring finals. although during those first few beautiful days that always seemed to fall during study days, “study on the jes res lawn” meant play frisbee, socialize, enjoy the sun, walk your dog, gaze at the lake, etc. as beautiful as the information commons is (although I have yet to be inside), I’m still a little sad that the jes res lawn is no longer.

When I was at Loyola I had a corner in the stack rooms in the basement. I turned into my book closet, I would leave my computer there overnight including my books, and provisions for the night. But to change it a bit I would go to the Science Library to the coaches facing the lake, no one was ever there, nor at the greenhouse, but the greenhouse was not as nice as it looks right now. And you needed to know from where to get in.

Way back in 1971, my favorite “secret” place was the top floor of Damen Hall. The entire floor was a single enormous space, and was completely empty, with no interior walls, and a concrete floor. The stairwell to get there was almost always unlocked. Despite the huge space, I could go to the corner for a fantastic view of the chapel and the lake, and study or work in total quiet.
