2002 – Georgetown University
The 17th CITM conference, hosted by Georgetown University in 2002, was a joint meeting with the library directors. Seventy-eight attendees represented 24 AJCU schools, two AUSJAL schools, and five other institutions. A list of educational technology managers at each of the AJCU schools, published at this meeting, was the first official recognition of what became the EdTech and eventually TTL group.
Topics included an IT-centered reflection on the documents of the 34th General Congregation, a primer on the new topic streaming media, ethics and security in the new IT/Internet world, the then-hot topic of library-IT cooperation, and documents showing the formal structure of the recently started JesuitNet and CADE. Social events were highlighted by an historical tour of Union Station in Washington, DC.
